MARION, Ill. — Showers and thunderstorms move through Marion and Williamson County today, with heavier activity expected after dark.
The National Weather Service forecasts showers and thunderstorms between 7 a.m. and 1 p.m. today, with a 90 percent chance of precipitation and highs near 84. The afternoon quiets down. But after sunset, the weather intensifies.
Tonight, between 7 p.m. and 3 a.m., showers and thunderstorms are likely—mainly during two windows: 8 to 9 p.m., and 10 p.m. to 3 a.m. The National Weather Service puts tonight's rain chances at 70 percent.
Tomorrow morning may see a brief chance of showers or thunderstorms between 7 and 8 a.m. After that clears, expect partly sunny skies and a high near 85. Rain chances drop to 20 percent.
Friday looks clearer: sunny, high near 87 degrees.
