MARION, Ill. — Heat will dominate Williamson County through the weekend—near 99 Saturday, steady around 97 Sunday—before a storm system approaches Monday.
Tonight will be clear and warm. The National Weather Service forecasts a low around 72 degrees, temperatures rising to 74 by morning. Saturday brings sunny skies with a high near 99 and southwest winds from 1 to 8 mph.
Sunday stays mostly sunny. High near 97, with west-southwest winds 3 to 7 mph.
Sunday night marks the shift. There's a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms developing after 1 a.m., according to the National Weather Service. By Monday, rain becomes likely—thunderstorms expected throughout the day with a 60 percent chance of precipitation. Clouds will thicken, and the high drops to 86 degrees.
