MARION, Ill. — Tonight stays mostly cloudy, low around 66, with temperatures edging up to about 68 by dawn. The east-northeast wind stays light—around 5 miles per hour—keeping things calm. Nothing threatening here.
Labor Day brings sun. The high approaches 90, temperatures falling to around 88 in the afternoon, and light east-northeast winds at 5 to 8 miles per hour. Good conditions for whatever you've planned, according to the National Weather Service.
The heat builds after that. Tuesday climbs near 95, and Wednesday pushes toward 98, both under clear skies. Wednesday also brings the strongest winds: 8 to 14 miles per hour with gusts reaching 20 from the south-southwest. Not severe, but enough to shake the trees.
Clear skies and comfortable overnight lows continue through the extended forecast.
