MARION, Ill. — Tonight's slight chance of showers and thunderstorms—20 percent, according to the National Weather Service—is unlikely to amount to much; most of Williamson County should stay dry under mostly cloudy skies, with temperatures dropping to 73 degrees.
Monday brings a nicer stretch: partly sunny and cooling, with a high near 87 that falls to around 85 in the afternoon. Light north northwest winds, 3 to 12 mph.
Tuesday looks excellent: sunny skies and warming to 90, with calm west winds around 2 mph.
Wednesday is the day to watch. The National Weather Service calls for showers and thunderstorms likely between 7 a.m. and 1 p.m., with a 70 percent chance of precipitation overall. The main window for storms falls mid-morning through early afternoon, though there's a slight chance before 7 a.m. and again after 1 p.m. Expect partly sunny skies afterward. Southwest winds 3 to 7 mph. High near 91.
