The National Weather Service is calling for dangerous heat over Williamson County through at least Thursday, with heat index values reaching as high as 107 degrees Wednesday and 105 degrees Thursday.
Wednesday will be sunny with a high near 100 degrees, falling to around 98 in the afternoon—but the humidity will make it feel significantly hotter. Wind will be light, from the south southwest at 3 to 8 mph, offering little relief. Tonight, temperatures will dip to around 74 degrees with mostly clear skies.
Thursday continues the pattern: sunny, with a high near 98 and the same dangerous heat index readings. Friday brings a slight cooldown, topping out near 97 degrees.
No rain is forecast for the next several days. If you're working or spending time outside, take the heat seriously—drink water, stay in the shade, and check on neighbors, the elderly, and anyone without air conditioning. No severe weather threatens the area.
