MARION, Ill. — A quiet Saturday precedes a wetter Sunday.
Today stays mostly dry under partly sunny skies. The National Weather Service forecasts a 20 percent chance of showers or thunderstorms, with west-southwest winds gusting to 18 miles per hour. High near 80, falling to 76 this afternoon.
Tonight clouds thicken and moisture increases. A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms develops, with a low around 67.
Sunday is the wet day. Rain showers are likely before 1 p.m., followed by a 60 percent chance of thunderstorms through the afternoon. Northwest winds gust to 22 miles per hour, with a high near 80. Evening storms are likely before 7 p.m., with wind gusts to 21 miles per hour.
By Monday, the system clears. Expect mostly sunny skies, a high near 84, and light north winds.
Nothing severe is forecast, but Sunday will bring the bulk of this weekend's rain and wind.
