MARION, Ill. — Friday brings heat across Williamson County — high around 98 degrees — with mostly sunny skies, according to the National Weather Service. A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms, 20 percent, arrives after 5 p.m., and temperatures fall to around 96 in the afternoon as storms approach. Winds light from the west-northwest.
Friday night, partly cloudy, low around 71 degrees. That same 20 percent chance of storms continues before 10 p.m., then clears. Nothing organized or severe is expected.
Saturday and Sunday bring sunny to mostly sunny skies. Saturday high near 97, Sunday high near 96. Light winds both days. No weather hazards in sight. It's the heat you expect in mid-September — no surprises, nothing dangerous.
