LISLE, Ill. — The Williamson County Airport Authority picked up a rare bit of statewide bragging rights this year: the Illinois Public Risk Fund named it a 2025 Member Performance Best-in-Class recipient, the fund announced, according to the Southern Illinoisan.
It's not the kind of award that makes headlines outside a trade newsletter, but for the agency behind the county's airport operations, it's a nod that the books are clean and the operation is sound.
County institutions don't get much credit around here unless something's gone wrong. This week, for once, the news is that something went right.
