Williamson County 4-H Serves Up Summer Cooking Classes for Kids
Three afternoons at the Herrin City Library, aprons on and griddles out

HERRIN, Ill. — The griddles come out and the aprons go on next month at the Herrin City Library, where Williamson County 4-H is putting kids behind the stove instead of in front of a screen.
The Southern Illinoisan reports the county 4-H program will offer a series of kid-friendly cooking classes from 1 to 3 p.m. Monday, Aug. 3, through Wednesday, Aug. 5, in the library's meeting room.
It's a small program — three afternoons, one meeting room, a partnership between 4-H and the library — but it's the kind of quiet county work that doesn't make the county board agenda and doesn't need to.
