Vice President JD Vance and second lady Usha Vance announced Sunday the birth of their fourth child, a son named Alec Neel Vance, according to PBS NewsHour, The Hill, Fox News, the Washington Examiner and Al Jazeera.

"We are excited to announce that our baby boy, Alec Neel Vance, was born this morning," the couple said in a statement posted to social media, according to The Hill. "Usha and the baby are happy and healthy, and our kids are already so excited to have a new little brother."

The birth marks the first time a child has been born to a sitting vice president in more than 150 years, PBS NewsHour reported. The Hill reported it is also the first time in 156 years that a sitting second lady has been pregnant or given birth while her husband held office.
