MARION — The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs has awarded $38 million in grants to 25 community organizations to help Illinois veterans who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless in fiscal year 2027, according to the Southern Illinoisan, in a report datelined out of Marion.
The grants are aimed at organizations working directly with veterans across the state, from housing assistance to the wraparound services that keep a bad stretch from turning into a permanent one.
The American Times Press will look for word on which, if any, Williamson County organizations are among the 25 grant recipients.
