A dispute at a summer food festival near the Space Needle turned into a gunfight with at least three shooters

It was supposed to be a summer food festival, the kind of crowded, easygoing evening Seattle holds near the Space Needle every year. Sunday it ended in gunfire.
Three people were killed and at least four others injured, including a toddler among the wounded, when what police described as a possible dispute escalated into a mass shooting, CBS News correspondent Carter Evans reported. Court documents reviewed by CBS News indicate at least three suspects were involved: one is in custody, one remains at large, and police believe a third died at the scene.
Among those now facing prosecution is a 15-year-old. A judge ordered the teenager held in juvenile detention Monday, NBC News reported, with prosecutors alleging the minor fired into the crowd during the gunfight. It is one of two arrests made so far in connection with the shooting, according to NBC's reporting.
A manhunt for the outstanding suspect continued into the week, NBC News and CBS News both reported, with investigators still piecing together what triggered the confrontation. Neither outlet's reporting, as reviewed here, identified a confirmed motive.
The attack adds Seattle to a list of American cities where a public gathering — a festival, a parade, a night out — has turned into a crime scene this year. The full toll of who was hurt, and why, is still being established by investigators and will likely take shape over coming court proceedings.
