MARION, Ill. — Folding chairs filled up fast Tuesday morning at a special Williamson County Board of Commissioners meeting, where about 15 residents came looking for straight answers on property taxes, assessments and what they say has been a communication gap with county government, the Southern Illinoisan reported.
The special meeting gave homeowners a rare chance to speak directly to the commissioners who set the budgets their tax bills fund. Residents raised concerns about property taxes, assessments and communication from county government, according to the Southern Illinoisan.
That's fifteen people who took a morning off to show up in a folding chair and say their piece. The county owes them a straight answer back.
