CARTERVILLE — A vehicle came through the front of the Country Cupboard here, according to a report from WPSD Local 6, leaving the popular storefront damaged and customers no doubt shaken.
Details on the crash — how it happened, who was behind the wheel, whether anyone was hurt — were not included in the initial report. That's the way these things go in a small town: the news arrives in pieces, usually starting with a photo of a bumper where a window used to be.
The American Times will follow up as more information becomes available from local authorities and the business itself. For now, folks in Carterville are left waiting on word about repairs — and about whether the shop that's fed this town for years will be back open soon.
