MARION — Three Marion schools went into a soft lockdown after a shooting in the city, according to KFVS12.
The precaution affected students and staff at three separate buildings while the situation was addressed. KFVS12's report did not detail additional circumstances beyond the lockdown itself.
For parents picking up the phone to a lockdown notice, the wait for more information is its own kind of ordeal — regardless of how the underlying incident resolves. A soft lockdown, however brief, is a reminder of how close the line runs between an ordinary school day and a very different one.
