CARTERVILLE — A power failure touched off a fire on the John A. Logan College campus, KFVS12 reported, prompting the college to extend remote instruction and advisement through Aug. 21.
A fire on campus, even one contained enough to leave the school planning a return date rather than a rebuild, still knocks a school's rhythm sideways in the first weeks of a new term.
No injuries or damage estimates were included beyond KFVS12's report. The extension through Aug. 21 gave the college time to sort out the building before bringing students and staff back in person. For a campus that carries General Logan's name, getting the lights — and the classrooms — back on mattered enough to make the news.
