MARION, Ill. — Marion is getting a new police chief, according to KFVS12.
The outlet did not report the incoming chief's name, background, or start date in what was made available to this bureau. Whoever takes the badge inherits a department that has had a busy run of headlines: WPSD Local 6 reported police were searching for an armed bank robbery suspect in Marion, KFVS12 reported a Marion man was murdered with a machete-type weapon with a suspect now in custody, and WPSD Local 6 reported Marion High School was the subject of a threatening phone call amid the district's investigation into a track coach.
