MARION — A new exhibit on Illinois archeology has opened in Marion, according to KFVS12, giving county residents a closer look at what's been pulled from the ground across the state without having to leave home.
The exhibit adds another stop for anyone curious about what lies beneath southern Illinois soil — a region whose story runs a lot deeper than the coal seams that built its towns.
No word yet on how long the exhibit will run, but for a county that keeps close watch on its own past, a look at the state's older history is worth the drive downtown.
