MARION, Ill. — Marion High School students spilled out of the building Friday morning after a caller claimed a bomb was inside, the Southern Illinoisan reports.
The school was evacuated and searched. No device was found, and the threat was determined to be false.
A false alarm is still a disruption — a morning of instruction lost, parents scrambling for information, students standing outside not knowing whether to believe it's nothing. It's the kind of scare a school district can't afford to shrug off, whoever made the call and whatever their reasons. The Southern Illinoisan did not report further details on the investigation into the source of the threat.
