Marion Forecast: Scattered Storms Friday, Wet Night Ahead

MARION, Ill. — Tonight stays quiet and warm, mostly cloudy with a low around 67 and light southeast winds. Friday is when the weather changes.
Scattered showers and thunderstorms will work into Williamson County Friday afternoon, between noon and 5 p.m., according to the National Weather Service. The risk isn't high—40 percent chance overall—but the timing is broken into pieces through the day. Highs reach near 87 before afternoon temperatures drop toward 83.
The real wet period comes Friday night. An 80 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms moves in before midnight and continues through 3 a.m., then lingers at lower odds through early morning. Low around 70, with temperatures rising slightly overnight.
Saturday brings another 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, partly sunny, with highs near 81 and west southwest winds gusting to 20 mph.
Nothing severe looms here, but keep an eye toward Friday evening. The system moving through is energetic and wet.
