CARTERVILLE, Ill. — John A. Logan College held a Juneteenth celebration on its campus, the Southern Illinoisan reported.
Specifics on the event's program weren't detailed in the initial report.
Separately, Gov. JB Pritzker honored Saturday as Emmett Till Day after signing a law for the designation Thursday, according to Southern Illinoisan Local reporting — another date added to the state's civic calendar this summer.
