CARTERVILLE — John A. Logan College awarded $10,000 in student ambassador scholarships to area students, according to kbsi23.com.
The scholarships go to students who take on the ambassador role at the community college, though details on how many students received awards or how the money will be split weren't included in initial reporting.
It's a modest program next to the big-ticket items on a college budget, but it's the kind of investment that tends to matter more than the dollar figure lets on — a college choosing to put money behind the students who represent it. This bureau will follow up when more particulars on the awards come available.
