Karnes Turns to His Own Son to Rebuild Herrin's Offense

A family affair as the Tigers look for answers on the field

HERRIN, Ill. — Coach Karnes has tried a lot of things to get Herrin's offense moving. This season, he's trying something close to home: his own son.

According to the Southern Illinoisan, Karnes is turning to his son to help spark the Tigers' offense as the team works to find its identity heading into the season.

For Herrin fans, the appeal isn't complicated — a coach putting his faith in his own kid to move the chains.

Whether the move pays off on the scoreboard remains to be seen. But it's one more reason to fill the bleachers this fall.
