CARTERVILLE, Ill. — Enrollment is up at John A. Logan College heading into the fall semester, according to 101.5 CIL-FM.
The Carterville community college has long served as the region's off-ramp for laid-off miners and factory workers looking to retrain, and a growing student body is a good sign for a county that has lived through more than one round of economic whiplash. Details on the numbers driving the increase were reported by 101.5 CIL-FM.
Classes resume this month, and the college's enrollment trend will be one to watch as southern Illinois continues to lean on Logan for workforce training and transfer credits alike.
