John A. Logan College Breaks Ground on West Lobby Expansion
Construction begins at the Carterville campus

CARTERVILLE, Ill. — There's fresh construction fencing up at John A. Logan College, and it means the campus is growing again.
John A. Logan College has begun construction on a west lobby expansion, according to KFVS12. The college, named for the Civil War general who helped found Memorial Day, has long served as a retraining ground for southern Illinois workers displaced from the mines and factories that used to anchor this county's economy. Every addition to that campus is an investment in the next generation looking for a way up that doesn't require leaving.
Further details on the project's scope, cost, and completion timeline were not included in available reporting. The American Times will follow the build as it progresses.
