MURPHYSBORO — The Jackson County Drug Court will hold its eighth graduation ceremony Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Jackson County Courthouse, following the regularly scheduled Drug Court hearing, the Southern Illinoisan reported.
Drug courts don't make the front page the way a trial does, but they do the quieter work of keeping people out of the system that costly trials feed. Eight graduations in, this one's another chance for a county courtroom to hand out something other than a sentence.
