IL 13 Traffic Shifts to Next Stage Over Crab Orchard Lake
IDOT sets the change for Friday, weather permitting
By Verna Slate, Williamson County Bureau
CARTERVILLE, Ill. — The lane lines over Crab Orchard Lake are about to move again.
The Illinois Department of Transportation announced that traffic on Illinois 13 over Crab Orchard Lake in Carterville will shift to the next stage of construction beginning Friday, July 24, weather permitting, according to the Southern Illinoisan.
That's the whole of what the state has said so far — a stage change, a date, and the usual asterisk that Illinois summer weather always gets to have the final word. Drivers making that crossing this week should expect the configuration to be different than it was the week before, and should plan accordingly until IDOT says more.
