MARION — The men and women who flew out on Honor Flight Mission 17 will spend one more night away from the folks waiting on them.
An unexpected delay pushed the group's return home to Tuesday afternoon, according to the Southern Illinoisan Local. No further details on the cause of the holdup were available.
Families and well-wishers who planned to greet the returning veterans this week will need to hold their signs and their patience a little longer.
The wait is a small price next to the one these veterans already paid, and Williamson County has never been shy about showing up to say so.
