Herrin Students Get a Look at What Comes After Graduation
Annual career expo puts options in front of the next generation
By Verna Slate, Williamson County Bureau
HERRIN — Herrin students got a look at what's out there for them at the district's annual career expo, WPSD Local 6 reported.
Details on which employers and programs took part were not included in the initial report. But the event fits a pattern in a county that has had to reinvent its own job market more than once. Getting that message in front of students before they graduate, rather than after, is the kind of quiet groundwork that doesn't make headlines until years later, when a student who sat through the expo turns up on a job site, or in a classroom, close to home.
