HERRIN, Ill. — The Williamson County Sheriff's Office reports two rounds of methamphetamine enforcement in Herrin this month, though the exact scope of who's now facing charges takes some untangling.
According to the Southern Illinoisan, deputies served search warrants at two Herrin homes on consecutive days as part of separate meth investigations, resulting in four arrests. In a separate item, the same outlet reported two arrests followed a Wednesday search warrant at a Herrin residence, tied to a distribution investigation that began back in December.
What isn't clear from the sheriff's office reporting is whether that December-rooted case is one of the two "separate investigations" already folded into the four arrests, or a distinct third matter. The American Times is not treating these as six confirmed defendants until the sheriff's office clarifies the count.
What is clear: Herrin absorbed more than one meth warrant in short order this month, work that in at least one case started before the holidays and came due now. The American Times will follow the cases as they're formally charged in Williamson County circuit court.
