HERRIN, Ill. — There's a decent chance somebody in this town has money sitting in Springfield with their name on it, and the Herrin library wants to help them find it.
The library will host a program connecting residents with Illinois' unclaimed property system, according to KFVS12. Events like this one exist to walk people through the process of checking for and filing a claim on forgotten property.
It's the kind of quiet public service that doesn't make headlines for long but can mean real money back in somebody's pocket. Worth a trip to the library.
