HERRIN — The Herrin House of Hope has a few things going at once this season, all aimed at the same goal: getting food and a good afternoon to families who need both.
The organization is offering free meals, according to the Southern Illinoisan, and is part of a push bringing mobile farmers markets to communities with limited access to fresh groceries. Separately, WSIL-TV reported on the group's Family Fun Day.
None of this is new territory for House of Hope, which has spent years as one of the steadier fixtures of Herrin's charitable life — the kind of outfit that shows up whether or not anybody's writing a headline about it.
