MARION, Ill. — Federal authorities have charged eight men — six of them from southern Illinois — in a child sex trafficking case, according to WPSD Local 6.
The charges, filed at the federal level, land in a region still working to keep predators away from its kids. Southern Illinois has seen these cases before, and each one lands the same way here: quiet fury at a courthouse that has to move slow and careful while a community wants answers fast.
WPSD Local 6 has not released the full list of names or the specific counties of residence for all six southern Illinois defendants. The American Times Press will follow the case through the federal docket as it proceeds.
Anyone with information related to child exploitation cases is typically directed to federal or local law enforcement tip lines. This is a developing story, and more will follow as the charges move through federal court.
