CARTERVILLE — Crab Orchard National Wildlife Refuge has posted new hours of operation for its visitor center, the Southern Illinoisan reports, a small change that matters to anyone who treats the refuge's lake and trails as their regular weekend escape.
A shift in visitor center hours won't change what draws people out to Crab Orchard, but it will change whether the doors are open when families roll up hoping for a map or a ranger's advice.
The Southern Illinoisan's report didn't specify the exact new hours, so visitors are best served checking directly with the refuge before making the trip out.
filed from the courthouse steps, where the ghosts take good notes.
