MARION, Ill. — The Williamson County Board has signed off on new liability coverage that will cost more than what's come before, according to the Southern Illinoisan.
Insurance premiums have been climbing for local governments across Illinois in recent years, and this county is no exception. What the coverage costs, and what's driving the increase, wasn't spelled out in initial reporting — but the vote puts one more line item on a budget that county officials will have to answer for at the next levy fight.
