METROPOLIS, Ill. — Carterville's volleyball team is headed for what the Southern Illinoisan is calling an epic collision this week against Massac County in Southern Illinois River-to-River Ohio Division play.
Massac County enters the matchup having just halted Edwards County's bid for a third straight Superman Slam championship over the weekend, a result that has the Patriots rolling into the league showdown with momentum. For Carterville, it's a chance to measure itself against one of the region's hottest teams.
