CARTERVILLE, Ill. — A Carterville teacher has been placed on administrative leave following an investigation into alleged sexual abuse, KFVS12 reports.
The outlet's reporting did not name the teacher, specify the school, or detail the allegations beyond the fact of the investigation and the leave. It is a separate matter from the subpoenas issued this week involving a former assistant football coach also connected to Carterville schools — two different cases, same district, same short stretch of days.
When a small-town district faces two personnel investigations at once, parents start asking the same question every time: what did administrators know, and how fast did they act. Carterville has grown into one of the county's steadier residential communities, built in part on trust in its schools.
