MARION, Ill. — A bracelet maker, a young author, a budding artist — none of them may think of themselves as a business owner yet. The annual PMR Children's Business Fair is out to change that, according to the Southern Illinoisan.
Applications are now open for the Marion event, which gives kids a chance to build, price and sell their own products for a day, standing behind their own table instead of a lemonade stand on the curb. It's a small thing, but in a county that has watched plenty of grown-up businesses come and go with the coal and the highway traffic, teaching kids the basics early counts for something.
