MARION — An American Airlines flight out of Marion took off Wednesday after a three-hour delay, KFVS12 reported.
Air service out of Marion is a relatively small operation compared to the big regional hubs, which means a single delayed flight can loom large for the travelers stuck waiting on it. No cause for the delay was specified in early reporting.
For a county that fought hard to keep commercial air service flying at all, every departure — on time or not — still counts as a small win for connectivity between southern Illinois and the rest of the country.
